Who we are
Good Companions provides exclusive, individually tailored, non-care services to retired people in the Cambridge area, living in their own homes or in retirement communities.

Our aims are to enrich retirement, maximise independence and reduce anxieties by offering a wide range of high quality concierge and PA services to complement the support provided by family and friends.

Clients receive the personal and professional attention of Sheila Bowler who has worked in the area for over 30 years as a lecturer, adviser and consultant.

Sheila set up Good Companions to provide the kind of support she recognised her own family members needed as they got older. She understands from personal experience the challenges and concerns associated with ageing parents when working and living some distance away.

Good Companions complements family support as a source of help, available locally. Feedback from clients indicates how important it is for them to keep hold of the reins. Knowing they can access a little extra help adds to their independence and sense of well-being.

The service operates within clearly defined professional boundaries and support is based upon mutual respect.

We are happy to take referrals from family members on the understanding that it is the needs of the older client which are central to the service arrangement.
